The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission conducted the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 01/UPTET/2026, for candidates seeking eligibility to be appointed as teachers for classes 1 to 8. Registration, online application and fee payment ran from 27 March 2026 to 26 April 2026, with fee reconciliation and application correction open until 01 May 2026, and the written examination was held on 02, 03 and 04 July 2026. Each paper is 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in 150 minutes with four options per question and no negative marking; the eligibility certificate is issued at 90 marks out of 150 (60 percent) for general candidates and 82 out of 150 (55 percent) for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ex-servicemen, dependants of freedom fighters and Divyang candidates. The certificate is valid for lifetime from the date the result is declared and is distributed through DigiLocker, and the booklet states that qualifying gives no right to recruitment or employment.
