41,424, requisitioned from Home Guards Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh and published district by district across 75 districts, each district showing an Unreserved, SC, ST, OBC and EWS split. Horizontal reservation against each district's vacancies is 2 percent for dependants of freedom fighters, 5 percent for ex-servicemen and 20 percent for women. Both vertical and horizontal reservation are available only to natives of Uttar Pradesh, and the notice reserves the right to change the number of vacancies at any time before the examination.

A High School (Class X) pass from a Board established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, aged 18 to 30 years as on 01 July 2025, who is a native or domicile of the same district against whose vacancy the application is made. Candidates who have only appeared or are appearing in the Class 10 examination are not eligible. Persons with a physical or mental defect and persons with disabilities are not eligible for enrolment, nor are persons regularly employed in government, semi-government or public-undertaking service, persons dismissed from such service, candidates with a criminal case pending in any court, and candidates with more than one living wife or husband.

18 to 30 years as on 01 July 2025, that is, born not before 01 July 1995 and not after 01 July 2007. SC, ST and OBC candidates who are natives of Uttar Pradesh get 05 years in the upper limit, taking the earliest date of birth to 01 July 1990. Uttar Pradesh ex-servicemen get 3 years after deducting the period of army service from actual age, provided the resulting age is not more than 33 years on 01 July 2025. High School or equivalent marksheets are the only accepted proof of age.

Rs 400 for General, EWS and Other Backward Class candidates and Rs 300 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. The notice lists no fee exemption for any category. One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory before applying, and the timetable runs 18 November to 17 December 2025 for both the application and the fee, with a fee-adjustment window open until 20 December 2025.

By the written examination score plus preference marks. The written paper is a single objective OMR-based General Knowledge paper of 100 questions and 100 marks over two hours in Hindi and English, and a candidate scoring less than 25 percent is not eligible for enrolment. Preference marks are then added: NCC 'C' certificate 3 marks, 'B' 2 marks, 'A' 1 mark, and a Bharat Scouts and Guides certificate 1 mark, with only the highest of these counted, plus 3 marks separately for a UPSDMA Aapda Mitra training certificate and 1 mark separately for a valid four-wheeler driving licence. Unverified preference certificates lose those marks at the scrutiny stage. Where a district's exam runs in more than one shift or on more than one date, normalisation is applied.

After. Candidates on the district-wise provisional merit list are called for scrutiny of records and the Physical Standard Test together, before a district board chaired by a Deputy Collector. Only those who clear that stage go to the Physical Efficiency Test, which is qualifying in nature and carries no marks.

Men need a minimum height of 168 cm (160 cm for Scheduled Tribe candidates) and a chest of 79 cm unexpanded and at least 84 cm expanded (77 cm and 82 cm for Scheduled Tribe candidates), with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. Women need a minimum height of 152 cm (147 cm for Scheduled Tribe candidates) and a minimum weight of 40 kg. In the PET, men must run 4.8 km in 28 minutes and women 2.4 km in 16 minutes; anyone who does not finish within the time leaves the process at that stage. Measurements taken in earlier recruitments or by any government or private institution are not accepted.

This is an enrolment, not a salaried post. An enrolled Home Guard is paid a duty allowance fixed by the Government from time to time when called for duty, at present Rs 600 for each day of attendance on duty, plus dearness allowance as fixed by the State Government.

The last date to submit the online application is 17 December 2025. Applications received after this date are not considered.

The online application window opened on 18 November 2025. Eligible candidates can apply through the official portal until the last date.

The exam is scheduled for 25, 26 & 27 April 2026. Admit cards are released closer to the exam date.
