The Staff Selection Commission is recruiting for Selection Posts under Advertisement No. Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts, with the vacancies, age limit and essential qualification of every individual post published separately in Annexure-III of the Notice rather than in the Notice body. Candidates sit one of three Computer Based Examinations, for posts at Matriculation level, Higher Secondary (10+2) level and Graduation and above level, each of four parts carrying 25 questions and 50 marks in 60 minutes with negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer, set in Hindi and English only. A skill test is held only where a typing, data entry or computer proficiency test is prescribed in the post's essential qualification and is qualifying in nature; candidates who clear the CBE must then upload their documents on the portal for scrutiny and document verification by the User Department. The fee was Rs 100 per category of post applied for, waived for women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen eligible for reservation, and the age limit is fixed as on 01 January 2026 but varies by post across eleven bands from 18-25 up to 18-35 years.

What are the stages of SSC Selection Post Phase-XIV 2026?
There is one written stage, an objective Computer Based Examination. A skill test such as a typing, data entry or computer proficiency test is held only for posts whose essential qualification prescribes it, and it is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the CBE must upload all relevant documents on the portal or their candidature is summarily rejected, after which the User Department carries out the detailed scrutiny and document verification. The Notice contains no descriptive paper.
What is the exam pattern and is there negative marking?
The Computer Based Examination has four parts - General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) and English Language (Basic Knowledge) - of 25 questions and 50 marks each, in a total of 60 minutes with a sectional timer of 15 minutes per part. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. The paper is set in Hindi and English only.
What is the age limit for Selection Post Phase-XIV?
It depends on the post and is reckoned as on 01 January 2026. The Notice lists eleven bands: 18-25, 18-27, 18-28, 18-30, 18-35, 20-25, 20-30, 21-27, 21-28, 22-28 and 23-28 years. Several bands do not start at 18, so the band applicable to the post must be checked in the post details in Annexure-III.
Who is exempt from the Rs 100 application fee?
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from the fee. Everyone else pays Rs 100, and the fee is charged separately for each category of post applied for. Payment is accepted only through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Master or Maestro card, or a RuPay credit or debit card.
Is work experience needed for Selection Posts?
For some posts, yes. Where experience is prescribed as an Essential Qualification it must have been acquired after completing the prescribed educational qualification, and internship, training or research experience gained while acquiring that qualification is not counted. Essential qualifications and experience are reckoned as on the closing date, 04 May 2026.
How many vacancies are there in Selection Post Phase-XIV?
The Notice publishes no aggregate figure. Vacancies are given post by post in Annexure-III and on the Commission's post-details page, and the Notice states they are tentative and may be altered, cancelled, withdrawn or merged at any time.
